Talk focuses on ethical material sourcing
A panel on ethical material sourcing will be at the Bigfork library on Sept. 18.
The discussion will focus on Design for Freedom, a global movement to eliminate forced labor in the building materials supply chain, and the library’s participation in the program.
Speakers include lead interior designer on the library, Jessica Murray with Cushing Terrell; Ethical Materials Director at Grace Farms, Nora Rizzo; and Manager of Sustainable Building Solutions for Assa Abloy, Erin Spadavecchia.
The talk is from 5-6 p.m. at the library at 186 Bridge Street in Bigfork.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s
The Flathead Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s is Sept. 28 at Lawrence Park, 1105 N. Main, Kalispell. Check-in is 10 a.m. and the walk begins at 11 a.m.
Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. To register and begin fundraising now, visit alz.org/walk.
Free mammograms
Tough Enough to Wear Pink of Montana is partnering with the Montana Cancer Screening Program, local health departments and mammogram facilities across Montana to offer free mammograms on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Polson Harvest Dinner
The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 409 4th Ave. East, Polson, will hold its 54th Annual Harvest Dinner on Tuesday, Oct. 15 for takeout only.
The meal consists of Swedish meatballs, potatoes/gravy, green beans, coleslaw, a roll and pumpkin pie. Homemade lefse will also be available for sale. Call ahead at 406-883-5864 to place an order. Dinners may be picked up between 4-6 p.m. Dinner is $15 each.
Donations are always welcome. Dinner proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club in Polson and Cheerful Heart.
