Law roundup: Drunk drivers on tap around county
A drunk woman was reportedly driving, and swerving, around Kalispell with a bottle in her lap and a bunch of people, including two kids, in her car, which had its lights turned off at night. The woman then brake-checked another vehicle before turning into the mall area.
Meanwhile, in Hungry Horse, pieces of a camper were aflame in a burn pile and someone called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office concerned that it was toxic when blue smoke flooded the neighborhood. The caller thought there were people on the scene but didn’t see anyone.
A drunk man was allegedly destroying items in a Kalispell house, refusing to leave and arguing with someone who told deputies that they couldn’t separate themselves from him but didn’t think he was going to get violent.
Someone reportedly watched a man throw a German shepherd out of his vehicle and try to hit the dog in Kalispell. A woman told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office the dog was chasing the car the last time she saw him.
In Columbia Falls, two large dogs on the loose were allegedly chasing pedestrians and someone, who said they reported the issue before, wanted something done before a person got hurt.
A man in Kalispell allegedly argued with a neighbor, who had his car keys, about being too drunk to drive and having beer cans in his car. The man wandered around, talking to other neighbors, and then grabbed a car key hidden under the car as the neighbor yelled and swore in the background. The person calling the incident in said they would call back if he managed to drive away.
Deputies received another call about a man in Kalispell who was reportedly “very high” and “very agitated” when he left a location.
Three horses were running loose and headed toward the highway in Columbia Falls.
