Whitefish-based nonprofit hosts the Winterland Impact Festival

Project Winterland, a Whitefish-based nonprofit, is hosting the first-ever Winterland Impact Festival Sept. 26-29 in Whitefish. 

The organization produced the Winterland Solutionist Summit in March of 2024 in Whitefish.  

Project Winterland describes the festival as a collision of film, music, innovation, science and immersive experiences inspiring and uniting people in the spirit of the greater good. 

The festival will tell stories through film, panels, music and keynote speakers to challenge preconceptions and stimulate fresh thinking and ignite collective action for an equitable and resilient planet.  

“While that may sound like a high reach, being in service to our shared future is precisely what’s needed today and we have curated programs and experiences to do just that,” said Project Winterland Founder Anderson Rosenthal. 

The festival boasts 44 films, 29 featured speakers, five immersive experiences, seven venues and six bands, including the Grammy-winning artist, Alya, presenting her new song, “Hope.” 

Indigenous films include "Bring Them Home," "The Story Never Truly Told," "Rebirth on the Range," "Pretending" and others.  

Charlie Annenberg, Darin Olien and Antony Randall, among others, will speak at the event. Panelists include Dr. Mike Savarese, Dr. Lise Van Susteren, and Chris Wilke. 

Music programming includes local favorites like 20 Grand and Halladay & Rob Quist Trio, along with Alya and rising stars like Sterling Drake, Christian Wallowing Bull and Shadow ‘Foreshadow’ Deveraux. 

Films will be screened at the O’Shaughnessy’s Cultural Arts Center. Music and immersive experiences will take place at the Second Story at 101 Central, The Remington, The Great Northern, Thirty-Eight Whitefish, The Firebrand, the Whitefish Performing Arts Center and a private barn in Whitefish.
