DAVIS, Calif. — Braylon Skinner’s solo home run broke a 2-2 and sparked a three-run fifth inning by the Yolo High Wheelers, who went on to beat the Glacier Range Riders 6-3 in Game 3 of the Pioneer League Championship Series.

The Range Riders, who won Game 1 2-0, now trail two games to one in the PLCS. Yolo can clinch the championship Saturday with a win; first pitch is at 5 p.m. Mountain in Davis.

Glacier made up a 2-0 deficit in the fourth inning, getting an RBI single from Ben Fitzgerald and an RBI groundout by Andy Atwood.

Skinner led off the fifth with his solo homer; with one out the High Wheelers got two singles; with two outs both runners scored on a passed ball for a 5-2 lead.

Ty Penner’s sacrifice fly brought home Christian Kirtley in the sixth for Glacier, but Yolo got that run back on Skinner’s run-scoring groundout. Kirtley and Freddy Guilamo hit doubles for Glacier.

Four pitchers threw one no-hit inning each in relief of Yolo starter Ben Ferrer, who struck out eight in five innings. The Range Riders went down in order in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings; eight of them struck out.

Cooper Benson lasted 4 2-3 innings on the hill for Glacier, fanning eight. Ricky Tibbett took the ball until the seventh, where Luke Cooper took over for two scoreless innings, fanning two.
