Wolfpack soccer sweeps Butte
Liam Ells scored two goals and assisted on another, and the Glacier Wolfpack swamped Butte 8-0 in Western AA boys soccer Friday at Glacier High.
Both Wolfpack teams pitched shutouts, with the girls winning 3-0.
Ells had the assists on Alex Hoerner’s goal in the game’s sixth minute and Glacier (4-2) would dictate the pace from there, outshooting the (0-5) Bulldogs 12-3.
Ells’ first goal put his team up 3-0 at halftime, and his second made it 4-0 early in the second half.
AJ Zlogar, Creed Norick, Cash Treweek, Isaac Weaks and Kyler Hardman added second half goals — the latter three coming in the span of two minutes. Cole Pelucca assisted on the final two scores.

Lucy Holloway scored in the first half and Emmery Schmidt found the net twice in the second for the Wolfpack, which shook off a Thursday loss at Missoula Big Sky and improved to 3-1-2.
Addison Brisendine assisted on Holloway’s goal 33 minutes into the game. Glacier went on to outshoot Butte 25-0. The Bulldogs are 0-5.
“The 25 shot-to-zero total shows are complete dominance in the match,” coach Doug Mello said. “We did a great job playing the ball around and retaining possession. We squandered chances going to goal, but you know a win’s a win.
“We have crosstown coming up (next Thursday) so that's an important match for both teams because there's a lot of spirit involved.”
