Tim Carter, using a gap wedge, aced the 101-yard No. 12 at Buffalo Hill Golf Course on Sept. 3.

His second career hole-in-one was witnessed by Ed Woodland and Guy LaVoye.

O’Connell activated  for Miami game

Glacier High and Montana Grizzlies alum Patrick O’Connell has been elevated from the practice squad by the Seattle Seahawks, putting him on the active roster for Sunday’s game against Miami.

O’Connell, signed as an undrafted free agent in 2023 after an All-America career at UM, played in one game last season, and made one tackle.

Montana State product Ty Okada remains a practice squad player with Seattle.

Clancy brothers win Montana 4-ball

GREAT FALLS — The brothers duo of Liam and Sean Clancy won the Montana Men’s Four Ball Championship Saturday, which ends the MSGA 2024 season, at Meadow Lark Country Club.

The brothers, originally from Laurel though Sean lives in Helena, shot an 8-under 64 Saturday but still needed a playoff hole to subdue the Great Falls duo of Ross Bartell and Ben Kaul, who shot 66.

The group replayed the Par-4 No. 18, and nobody hit the fairway. It was Sean Clancy’s up-and-down par from behind the green that won it.

Helena’s Bennett MacIntyre and Darah Newell Smith won the mixed gross division at 5-under, 20 strokes in front.

Rendina gets 6 totes in Army win

WEST POINT, N.Y. — Glacier High product Jake Rendina had six carries for 19 yards in Army’s 37-14 win over Rice Saturday.

The 255-pound sophomore fullback has 17 carries for 61 yards this season for the 4-0 Black Knights. He scored his first college touchdown, from 3 yards out, in a 42-7 win over Lehigh on Aug. 30.
