Montana women are not going back

When we hear the comments by JD Vance, vice presidential candidate, about childless women not having as much invested in our country as those with children, it makes us angry. Women have long been the caregivers and backbone of families which include stepchildren, foster children, adopted children and being aunties to many.

When we see the efforts of Montana state elected officials to deny us the opportunity to vote on reproductive freedom, this makes us angry.

When the public schools our children attend(ed) are targeted and denied funding, it makes us angry.

When 30,000 Montana women and children are wrongly kicked off of health insurance, it makes us angry.

With Project 2025 waiting in the wings, women’s rights will be eliminated under the Trump-Vance administration. It is an anti-woman agenda. We encourage you to read it.

This is not a political issue. It is a woman’s issue. We who nurture our communities no matter our party affiliation, must come together to support the balanced, thoughtful, reasoned actions that women offer. We had to fight for the right to vote 100 years ago, and this fight for our autonomy is no less important.

It’s time for us to galvanize and get energized to change the course of this election. We can’t sit this one out. It’s going to require every one of us to find a way to participate.

We cannot go back. We’ve come too far. We owe it to ourselves and to our daughters, granddaughters and great-granddaughters.

It is imperative that Montana women show up at the polls this fall and vote for candidates who support  women’s rights.

We will be gathering the women for a NW Montana Women’s Weekend of Action Oct 4-6. Joins us.

We Won’t Go Back.
