AA Football: Shea, Bulldogs top Flathead
BUTTE — Butte quarterback Colton Shea threw four touchdown passes — including an 80-yarder on the game’s first snap — and ran for a score to lead the Bulldogs over Flathead 41-10 in Western AA football Friday.
Shea’s TD pass to Cayde Stajcar on the first play represented a big chunk of his 331 yards through the air; he completed 20 of 25 passes with one interception.
He hit Hudson Luedtke with a 6-yard scoring strike before finding Sam Sampson and Karson Pumnea on screen plays covering 30 and 25 yards, all in the third quarter. Pumnea also ran for a touchdown in the first half for Butte (2-3 overall, 2-1 in the Western AA).
Brett Pesola threw for 162 yards for Flathead (0-5, 0-3 in league), including a 57-yard bomb that found Lane Chivers in stride in the fourth quarter. Pesola also ran for 29 yards. Kaleb Sims had five catches for 71 yards for the Braves.
Defensively, Nolan Campbell was in on 11 tackles for Flathead, with three tackles for loss. Bransen Holzer had six stops. Will Hollensteiner had an interception on defense and drilled a 33-yard field goal for the Braves’ first points.
