Law roundup: Woman frightened by ‘lady in red’
A woman inside a locked-up business on First Avenue East was scared by a group of about 10 people with cameras who reportedly gathered in front of the building and started crying when an older “lady in red” with curly hair and dressed in “southwest wear” tried to open the door. A resident turned to police when letters from the homeowner’s association failed to get the owner of an older beat-up truck and an older white and red Ford Excursion to move the vehicles, which were causing issues with construction work, delivery drivers and garbage collection. Officers ticketed the vehicles for being parked with the left door to the curb and stickered them with notices to move within 72 hours.
An employee asked officers to escort a guest off the property who allegedly refused to leave after they were found smoking marijuana in their room, which was against the rules. The guest was advised they were no longer welcome.
