Desiree Dawn 'Des' Kunda, 47
On Monday, March 24, 2025, beloved daughter, sister and mother, Desiree Dawn Kunda went to walk alongside her father in Heaven.
Desiree had so many people in her life she loved that all loved her right back. Her son, Coby was the light of her life and motherhood is where she drew her strength. She had a unique relationship with each of her many family members, something that was a specific special bond all their own.
Her friends and family would describe her humor as heavy on self-deprecation, almost undetectable sarcasm, and constant deadpan delivery. It was brilliant. Her laugh was contagious every time.
She loved being in nature, especially in the sun by a lake or ocean. She loved music, movies, and sweet, tasty treats. She didn’t like winter but never let it stop her from walking her dog, Bo, who was her second love. She had a silent strength she brought to everything in life.
Life was not always easy for Desiree or the family and friends that loved her. Regardless of those battles she strived to be the best version of herself always. She was the embodiment of "je ne sais quoi." People were drawn to her. Her internal light was something to behold, and it will truly be missed every day.
Desiree was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Kunda.
She is survived by her son, Coby Kunda, mother and stepfather, Kathy and Carl Christiansen, siblings, Kathryn (Sean), John (Kaythi), Kristy (Orin), Michael, Jesse, Carrie, and Carl (Shannon). Also, by her stepmother, Susan Kunda and her children, Eric, Gina, Theresa and Maureen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
