Marian Josephine Ax, 93

Marian J. Ax, 93, born May 25, 1931, in Oakland, California, passed away peacefully March 21, 2025, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell. 

She grew up in Northern California where she became a wife, mother and secretary. In 1965 they sold their small ranch and moved to Montana and bought a large ranch. They ranched for a few years, and at the same time Marian was a janitor at the West Valley School. Marian later became the secretary of West Valley and Bissell Schools, dentist's and their sawmill and trucking businesses. Marian later helped her husband, Robert, drive truck and saw America. 

Marian did retire and enjoyed volunteering at the West Valley Fire Dept., and garage sales. She enjoyed hiking with friends, cross country skiing, horseback riding, cooking, baking, garage sale-ing, dancing and her reign as, "Queen of the Red Hat Club." 

Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, of 61 years. 

She is survived by her son, Gary, daughter-in-law, Lorie, her daughter, Teresa, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Geri Ax, and numerous nieces and nephews from North Carolina, Montana and Alaska.
