Scott McLeod, 54

| April 13, 2025 12:00 AM

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Scott Allen McLeod, a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend, who left us far too soon. Scott was born on March 8, 1970, in Kalispell to Dawn and Jack McLeod. Scott attended Flathead High School, where his athletic talent earned him a football scholarship to Concordia College. Later, he continued his studies at Montana State University, where he forged lifelong friendships and deepened his love for his favorite team, the Montana State Bobcats. He remained a loyal Bobcats fan throughout his life, never missing a chance to cheer them on.

In 2003, Scott moved to Shreveport, Louisiana, where he built a successful career in corporate training, working with several organizations, including CenturyLink. He took great pride in his work, helping others develop their skills and reach their potential. While in Shreveport, he made many more close friends and developed a deep passion for the local hockey team. His love of sports was unwavering whether it was the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Bruins, or his beloved Bobcats.

More than anything, Scott’s proudest and most cherished role was being a father to his son, Mitch. There was nothing in life that brought him greater joy than watching Mitch grow, succeed, and carve his own path. His love for his son was immeasurable, and he was endlessly proud of the person Mitch had become.

Scott was incredibly smart, funny and kind and his presence was larger than life. He had a way of filling any room with laughter and warmth. His sense of humor was legendary, and his playful spirit was one of the many things that made him so loveable. People were naturally drawn to him not just because he was funny, but because he was so thoughtful, genuine, and full of heart.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Jack McLeod.

He is survived by his loving mother, Dawn McLeod; his son, Mitch McLeod and his siblings, Brett McLeod, Jewel Von Kempf and Beau McLeod.

A celebration of Scott’s life will be held at the Elks Lodge in Shreveport, Louisiana, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 27. The family asks that any donations be made to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.

Scott’s presence in our lives was a gift, and he will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. While our hearts are heavy with his passing, we take comfort in the many memories and laughter he shared with us all.
