Law roundup: Officers don’t have to look for banned man
Someone reported a theft and asked Kalispell Police Department officers to advise the man reportedly involved that he was banned from all locations for a year. Officers didn’t have to look far because he had already been arrested for assault.
A woman reportedly received two boxes of ammunition addressed to her ex and was advised by her attorney to make a police report because it seemed to them like a type of intimidation as the couple were involved in legal proceedings.
A man in a camper across the street from a resident reportedly placed a camera on an alleyway fence, pointing it at the resident’s door. The resident thought the man was living out of the camper that had been there for about a year or two and said he had previous issues with the man yelling at them.
A man allegedly called 911 but hung up before providing information other than complaining about vehicles speeding past his house. On a callback, the upset man allegedly refused to talk to male dispatchers. He reportedly called six more times asking to speak to a female dispatcher. He became irate and started yelling at the dispatcher on the phone. When asked what he wanted from law enforcement he hung up again.
Someone asked officers to patrol a parking lot where a truck with lights in wheel wells was hanging out with two other trucks. The caller alleged the truck had done burnouts in the past, but was not doing so at the time, however, it was an ongoing issue. Officers advised the drivers of parking lot rules and they left.
A manager reportedly asked officers to walk through the casino because some “sketchy” people who came in together had “spread out.” When asked what was sketchy about the people, the manager was vague and said a walk-through would make employees “feel better.” The people left.
Officers stopped a white Ford truck speeding 100 mph. Officers seized fictitious plates and took the driver to the hospital for a blood draw.
