Law roundup: Neighbor has bone to pick with animal owners
Kalispell Police Department received a report about a woman allegedly banging on a man’s door to complain about his dog being on her property, to which he yelled at her to get off his property and flipped her off. Officers spoke to the woman who aired multiple grievances about the neighbor's dog running free, people who reportedly had two cats that were not fixed and about another neighbor who was “dumping” on her property.
A man reportedly called a woman he stole a gun from one morning and eerily said, “I’m coming after you,” and continued to blab for about 38 minutes. The woman told officers she stayed on the line to hear what he had to say, noting that she wanted to “be prepared when he snaps.” She said she would investigate obtaining a temporary restraining order.
A woman reportedly tried to clean up tobacco and belongings a bearded man had strewn about when he returned to the location and threatened to “bash her head in with his water bottle.” Officers cited the man for assault and trespassing and moved him along, noting that the jail was full.
Someone reported three thefts on two separate occasions of two utility trailers and a log splitter valued at $4,897.
Someone reportedly broke into a building, damaged a door lock and then stole about $3,000 in cash.
A woman allegedly showed up at a man’s residence and started banging on the door to get money she was owed. The man claimed he didn’t have to pay her until later in the month as agreed on in court.
Someone reportedly called the police after hearing people screaming and throwing things over two to three hours because things hadn’t settled down. Officers contacted the occupant, who advised that the yelling was likely youths playing video games.
