Ronan boys sweep doubleheader

BROWNING — The Ronan Chiefs plated 12 runs in the first inning and starting pitcher Liam Wills didn’t allow a hit in three innings for a 16-0 victory in high school baseball in game one of Monday’s doubleheader against the Browning Indians.  


Wills finished with seven strikeouts, walked four batters and reached base in all three plate appearances, scoring twice. Damien Hess drove in two runs on a hit by pitch and an RBI walk. 


Jorian Snow started the game for the Indians and lasted just two thirds of an inning, allowing 12 runs, nine of them earned. AJ Hill finished the game allowing just one hit and three earned runs but struggled with command, walking seven batters.

In game two of the doubleheader, the Chiefs’ bats didn’t cool down as they plated 10 runs in the first inning as the game lasted just three innings. 


Kenner Mock singled home two runs in the first inning, highlighted by Caiden Pierre’s RBI double. Hunter Luedtke threw two innings of no-hit ball for the Chiefs (4-3), walking three batters and striking out five. 


David Burdeau recorded the only hit for the Indians (0-3), an RBI base hit in the bottom of the third inning and Kiai Ingraham came around to score on an error for their second run.
