POLSON — The Polson Lady Pirates walked 19 times and capitalized on six Whitefish Bulldog errors to pick up a 15-0 win in just three innings due to the run rule in high school softball Monday night.

Eight Lady Pirates walked in the first inning alone and their only RBI hit came from a Kendyl Jaeger single, as they put up six runs in the first inning. It was much more of the same in the second inning, as they added six more runs on seven more walks and no hits.

In the third inning, Abby Sanford added an RBI single, and Jayce Haggard hit a walk off RBI single that capped the mercy rule at 15 runs. It was the only three hits that Polson recorded — Jaeger and Haggard finished two RBIs each.

Madison Turner started the game for the Lady Pirates (8-0-1) and recorded all six outs via the strikeout before handing the game over to Sanford. The only hit allowed in the game came in the first inning when Whitefish’s (0-1-1) Brooke Bernat led off the game with a double, before striking out the side.
