Dan Lee Hodges, 63
Dan Lee Hodges, 63, a talented artist with a gentle heart, passed away on Nov. 8, 2024, at his home in Bigfork.
He was born September 14, 1961, in Helena, and soon thereafter became the adoptive son of Lee and Lorraine Hodges (Rocks) of Joplin, Montana.
Dan grew up on the family farm, along with his adopted sister, Starla. By three years old, Dan's artistic abilities were already blossoming. The young farm boy drew some attention early on with his illustrations of Batman and Spider man "catching thieves just like flies!"
Dan graduated from Joplin High School in 1979, then went on to college at the Colorado Institute of Art in Denver for two years before returning to Montana to live in Bigfork.
His passion for artistic expression eventually led to the creation of his business, Hodges Striping, which specialized in custom business signage and automotive graphic design.
He was preceded in death by parents, Lee Hodges and Lorraine Hodges; uncle, Wesley Hodges; grandparents, Frank and Leora Hodges; grandparents, Julius and Laura Rocks; and numerous cousins.
Dan is survived by sister, Starla Hodges; stepmother, Lorraine M. Hodges; aunt, Delores Humphreys; nephew, Andrew Atcheson; nieces, Alissa and Adrianna Atcheson (and children); significant other, Kimberly Macatee; and stepdaughter, Brittany (and children).
Dan's cremated remains will be laid to rest, alongside other family members, near the family farm in Joplin, with services to be held at a later date.
