Willis, Loggers shut out Bonners Ferry
LIBBY — Maddi Willis threw a six-inning one-hitter, Danika Allen hit a two-run home run and the Libby Loggers run-ruled Bonners Ferry, Idaho 10-0 Tuesday in non-conference softball.
Weslee MacDonald had three hits and two runs scored hitting out of the two-hole for Libby (3-5), which snapped a four-game losing streak. Allen’s home run gave the Loggers all the runs they needed in the first inning; she, Peyton Waggoner and Bently Huston all had two hits. Teighler Parker and Houston drove in two runs.
Willis allowed no walks and fanned five, facing one batter over the mininum.
Frenchtown 7, Polson 2
POLSON — Ryan Lucier threw a four-hitter and hit two home runs, leading Frenchtown over Polson in a non-conference battle between Class A powers.
Lucier’s two-run home run got Frenchtown (8-1) on the board in the third inning, and her three-run shot capped a five-run fourth that put the Broncs up 7-1.
In the circle she allowed four hits, six walks and one earned run — on a bases-loaded walk issued to Sierra Perez. Lucier fanned 10 Pirates while outdueling Polson ace Sam Rensvold.
Liz Cunningham had two hits and scored once for Polson (8-1-1). Rensvold, hurt by eight Polson errors, allowed no earned runs along with five hits and two walks. She struck out three. She had two hits at the plate, including a double.
M-A-C 12, Eureka 0
EUREKA — Jada Domebo threw three-hit shutout, GG Hawk drove in four runs and Mission-Arlee-Charlo exploded for 11 runs over the final two innings to put away Class B rival Eureka.
Hawk’s bases-loaded triple in the sixth inning started MAC (9-2) away from a 1-0 lead; Maia Christopher added an RBI triple. Domebo and Alecia Steele both had RBI doubles. In the circle, Domebo allowed one walk and struck out four.
Leah Tkachyk, Lily McAfee and Nora McKim hit singles for Eureka (1-8).
