Choir sings 'Message of Peace' during season finale
Enjoy an afternoon of heartwarming harmony as the Crown of the Continent Choir presents its season finale, "Message of Peace" on Sunday, April 27 at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish.
Doors open at 3 p.m. for cookies, coffee, and a silent auction. The concert begins at 4 p.m. Admission is free, with goodwill donations to the Crown Choir welcome.
“Message of Peace” is the Crown Choir’s single annual fundraiser. All other performances of the choir’s season are given solely for the benefit of Flathead-area nonprofits and community organizations.
Sunday’s concert goers will have the opportunity to bid on silent auction gift baskets and a selection of fine musical instruments. They can also buy chances for special prize drawings; the grand prize being coveted tickets for two to the Under the Big Sky Music Festival on July 18-20.
The Crown of the Continent Choir and Headwaters Ensemble are directed by Craig Thomas Naylor and accompanied by Eunhwa Park. This year’s "Message of Peace" concert will feature favorite and powerful pieces such as "Up to the Mountain," "Hine Ma Tov," "Lead with Love" and "River Spirit," a major original work composed by Naylor.
The Crown of the Continent Choir is a non-auditioned, non-sectarian group whose mission is to sing for fun and to build community through music. This season the choir’s outreach extended to Mountain View Mennonite Church, Montana Veterans Home, Martin Luther King Jr. celebration, Immanuel Living Communities, downtown Kalispell tree lighting, historic St. Ignatius Mission and the Samaritan House.
