Three shows coming to Wachholz College Center
A thrilling two weeks of live entertainment is coming to the Flathead Valley this spring as the Wachholz College Center rolls out an unforgettable trio of performances.
The excitement kicks off on April 25 with the acclaimed indie-rock band Dawes, followed by legendary musician Jim Messina on April 30. Wrapping up the dynamic lineup on May 4, Grammy-nominated artist KT Tunstall will captivate the audience with her rich folk-rock melodies and powerful lyrics.
California-based Dawes captivates audiences with their unique blend of soulful harmonies and thought-provoking lyrics. The two brother duo has an earned reputation for their distinctive sound which blends clever, situational rhymes with raw emotional depth.
The band recently had the honor of opening the 2025 Grammy Awards, backed by John Legend, Brad Paisley, Sheryl Crow, Brittany Howard and St. Vincent with a powerful performance of Randy Newman's “I Love L.A.” in honor of the wildfire recovery efforts.
As an undisputed expert in the fine art of making hit music, Jim Messina’s legacy of musical genius spans five decades, three super groups, a vibrant solo career and scores of producing and engineering credits. He was the bass player for Rock & Roll Hall of Famer band Buffalo Springfield, a founding member of Poco, who created Country Rock, and eventually half of the creative force behind Loggins and Messina, which sold over 16 million albums throughout the 1970’s.
KT Tunstall burst onto the music scene with her 2004 multi-platinum debut, “Eye to the Telescope,” which spawned the global hits "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" and "Suddenly I See."
These songs established Tunstall as a captivating, must-see performer, as well as a songwriter with a knack for balancing introspective folk and propulsive rock.
"I feel there are two immediate, recognizable pillars of my style," she says. "I have this troubadour, acoustic guitar-driven emotional side. Then there's definitely a rocker side of me with sharper teeth."
