Baseball: Whitefish beats Troy

WHITEFISH — Reed Boyer, Max Barone and Ryan Conklin combined on a one-hitter, and Drew Queen drove in four runs to lead Whitefish over Troy 11-1 in five innings in North A baseball action Thursday.

An error and Chris Schwaderer’s sacrifice fly put Whitefish (8-2 overall, 6-2 in lueag) up 2-0 in the first inning. The Bulldogs’ big inning was the third; Avery Caton had an RBI base hit, Queen added a two-run single and Conklin capped the uprising with an RBI double for a 7-1 lead. 

Queen added another two-run single in the top of the fifth. Finn Ryan’s two-out double in the fifth brought in Conklin with Whitefish’s 11th run and ended the game under the mercy rule.
