Law roundup: Company vanishes with tax docs
A taxpayer trying to file their taxes allegedly ran into issues when the company they filed with disappeared, but still had all their tax documents. They told officers that they left a voicemail with one phone number and called another number more than five times with no answer. It was the second report in two days that the Kalispell Police Department received about the business withholding personal tax documents. Officers advised both people who made reports about the Montana Tax Commission and pertinent state laws.
A blond man wearing a surgical mask, glasses, blue latex gloves and a blue hoodie was reportedly throwing sticks at someone’s car, flipping them off, walking around and pulling his shirt up outside a rehabilitation center. Employees wanted him kicked off the property, noting the disruptive 30-year-old had been escorted out of the emergency room earlier that morning
Officers received a later call about the blond man wearing blue latex gloves from someone who questioned his sanity when he walked into the building, saying, “This isn’t real,” over and over again. The caller was concerned about their safety because the owner was leaving soon and they’d be alone. While on the phone with the police department, the owner allegedly had a “casual conversation” with the man who moved along.
Officers responded to a later call about the man wearing a blue hoodie and latex gloves when he was reportedly spotted dragging away wire covering off of pipes and destroying other city property on a street corner.
A resident alleged that a woman reportedly showed up at the door of one of their renter, asking to retrieve keys she had “stashed on the property” after drinking the previous afternoon, and was suspicious she had something to do with a nearby wreck, possibly a hit and run.
Someone allegedly had information regarding vandalism to a church van that was posted on social media.
Security asked for police assistance in removing “a very upset” man with a ponytail from the property. The man was told he couldn’t be on the property unless he was seeking medical attention.
A woman reportedly wouldn’t leave a room after being fired and the person calling in the report alleged that sheriff’s deputies notified officers that she had a warrant out. Officers knocked on her door, but there was no answer. They suggested the caller go through the eviction process.
