Law roundup: No takers for indecently exposed hitchhiker
The Kalispell Police Department received two calls about a man reportedly standing on the side of the highway with his pants down while holding up a sign asking for a ride. The indecent exposure didn’t garner any takers. His pants were pulled up when officers arrived and they counseled him and moved him along.
A boss allegedly became enraged at a job site and grabbed an employee by the throat, lifting him off the ground and choking him and his coworkers had to pull the boss off. The man went inside a building and then to his vehicle where he tried to leave, but the ballistic boss spotted him and reportedly tackled him to the ground and held him down. Again, his coworkers stepped in, pulling the boss off of him and he finally left. At the time, the man told officers he didn’t want to pursue chargers. The officer gave him their contact card if he changed his mind.
A man reportedly defecated on the patio outside a business and someone asked officers to tell him he was banned for life from being on the property. They also complained about teens in lifted trucks doing brodies in the parking lot at night.
A high school parent called the police to report criminal mischief after someone allegedly broke into her son’s truck, kicked in the dashboard and broke the turn signals.
A “humongous” 18-wheeler reportedly blew a red light and was swerving across lanes of traffic.
A man allegedly tried to bathe in the sink at a location and was sitting by an entrance after being escorted out and someone wanted him off the property and called officers for assistance. Officers moved him along.
An elderly woman reportedly thought she was calling Netflix to pay a bill when someone, who was likely a scammer, claimed her account had been hacked, “a bunch of illegal activity” was happening and that if she didn’t listen to their instructions, she would go to jail. She made the right move in deciding not to give the fraud any money and call the police instead.
A woman reportedly stole a man’s phone for 24 hours because she was angry that he had taken her phone when he “borrowed” her car and “got high.” He told officers he was trying to go to treatment and wanted officers to ask her to give his phone back. He was advised to wait out the 24 hours. He also alleged that he left his grocery cart containing skis, winter clothes and a snowboard by the food bank and couldn’t find it. Officers said they would be on the lookout for the cart.
The careless driver of a black Honda with a spoiler was reportedly swerving, cutting vehicles off and ran a red light only to be stopped at the next red light and then used the lane for traffic traveling straight, to turn onto Idaho.
A school bus reportedly side-swiped a vehicle in the back of a school and the driver got out, telling the woman she shouldn’t have parked there.
