| February 13, 2025 12:00 AM

Barbara "Bobbi" Ellen Swan, 85, passed away peacefully Feb. 9, 2025, in Evergreen, in the care of Enhabit Hospice and Edgewood Care Facility.

She was born Jan. 10, 1940, to Charles and Eva Rigler in Livingston, Montana. She spent the early years of her life living on a cattle ranch in the Paradise Valley and then moved to Livingston upon the passing of her father in a tragic ranching accident in 1948.

She graduated from Park County High School in Livingston in 1958 and transitioned to Montana State University to begin her studies to become a registered nurse.

Bobbi married Ryan Swan of Livingston on Sept. 4, 1960, and they remained happily married for over 64 years. Upon completion of their academics, Bobbi and Ryan moved to Kalispell where she worked as an RN at Kalispell OB-GYN for 32 years. Together they enjoyed an active lifestyle raising children, hiking, cross-country skiing, camping and enjoying time with their grandchildren and other extended family.

Bobbi loved music and dancing, she and Ryan were members of the Jazz Society that held festivals in Kalispell each year. Bobbi will always be remembered for her kindness, strong work ethic, and happy, smiling, engaging manner and, of course, her Christmas fudge.

She is survived by her husband, Ryan; her son, Lon and his wife, Susan, her son, Mark and his wife, Kristin; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A time of reminiscence and a celebration of life will be arranged and announced for a later date this Spring. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations in Bobbi’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Edgewood Kalispell Memory Care facility.

Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home is caring for the family.
