Glacier sweeps Belgrade hoops on road

BELGRADE — Cooper Pelc scored 18 points, 10 coming in the fourth quarter as Glacier put away Belgrade 58-38 for a non-conference boys basketball win Thursday.

The Wolfpack went on to get a doubleheader sweep: Glacier’s girls swamped the Panthers 81-48 in the nightcap.

Pelc hit two of the Wolfpack’s three 3-pointers, with one coming during their 16-5 first-quarter burst.  

Belgrade closed to 24-17 at halftime, but Glacier (4-8) pushed the gap to 40-23 in the third. The Pack made hay at the line, converting 21 of 29 free throws. Pelc, Liam Ells and Asher Knopik all converted old-fashioned three-point plays. 

Easton Erickson led the Panthers (0-15) with 11 points.

Karley Allen and Reese Ramey scored 22 points each and Rylee Bigelow poured in 16 points off the bench for the Wolfpack. 

The trio combined for eight 3-pointers, with Ramey and Allen drilled three each.  

Belgrade is now 1-14. Glacier improved to 7-5.
