Valkyries keeping rolling with win over Polson

POLSON — Braeden Gunlock outscored the entire Pirates team with a 35-point night, leading the Valkyries to a comfortable win over Polson 71-27 in Northwest A girls basketball Thursday night. 


Olivia Ramirez was the only Pirate (5-10 overall, 3-6 in Northwest A games) to reach double-digits with 10 points. The Valkyries (13-2 overall, 9-0 in Northwest A games) continued their winnings ways as they remained undefeated in conference play. 


Bigfork’s Paeten Gunlock also reached double figures with 10 points and Payton DeSpain added nine.

Columbia Falls 55, Libby 12 

LIBBY — Kierra Kempainen led all scorers with 10 points as the Libby Loggers struggled to generate any offense in their loss to Columbia Falls in another Northwest A girls game. 


Rylee Delmas and Dakota Allen were the only players to score a field goal for the Loggers (1-14 overall, 0-9 in Northwest A games), as they each finished with four points.  


Alexa Frisk added eight points for the Wildkats (7-8 , 5-4 in league) and Rylee Sweeney chipped in seven.

RONAN — Kailyn Marengo led all scorers with 14 points, including three 3-pointers and Ronan dominated Whitefish in another Northwest A girls game. 


Arianna Zepeda added 13 for Ronan (9-6, 6-3 in league) and Nevaeh Perez finished with 11. No player for Whitefish (4-8, 2-5) reached double figures as Charlize Ullrich led the Bulldogs with eight. 


Allie Shors added seven for the Bulldogs as they were held scoreless from beyond the arc.
