Ronan Maidens take down Browning

RONAN — Kailyn Marengo scored 19 points and the Ronan Maidens won a tight Northwest A girls basketball game from Browning Saturday, 55-50. 

Two free throws by Natalie Adams put the Maidens up 36-34 at 3:12 of the third quarter and they wouldn’t trail again — though the Lady Indians kept the pressure on.  

Ronan (10-6 overall, 7-3 in the Northwest A) found some breathing room by scoring seven straight points in the fourth quarter, ending with Marengo’s 3-pointer with 2:22 left. It was her second three and made it 54-45, Maidens. 

Adams and Lauryn Buhr added nine points each for Ronan. Shaylee Heavy Runner and Amani Yellow Owl had 11 each to lead Browning (6-8, 4-4 in league).
