Boys hoops: Polson, Eureka win

LIBBY — Cason Graham scored 21 points, 10 in Polson’s 17-3 opening-quarter salvo that carried the Pirates to 71-32 Northwest A boys basketball win Saturday. 

Malakai Curley added 16 points, including four 3-pointers, for the Pirattes. Jesse Vail hit three 3-pointers and chipped in 11 points. 

Bransen Holzer led the Loggers with six points.

RONAN — Laurance Lozeau hit two 3-pointers and Chad Higgins converted two offensive rebounds into five points in a closing 13-4 run by Ronan. 

Lozeau’s three at the 3:52 mark of the fourth quarter started the Chiefs’ rally from a 44-39 deficit. His trey at the 1:38 mark put Ronan ahead for good, 50-48.

EUREKA — Kyle Kossman and Cole Sartori combined for 27 points — 14 in the first quarter — to lead Eureka over Plains in District 7-B action Saturday. 

Kossman had eight of his 13 points in the opening period, after which the Lions (8-10 overall, 6-4 in 7-B games) led 16-9. They outscored the Horsemen in every quarter. 

Zayden Allen led Plains (6-10, 2-8 in league) with 10 points.
