Ramey, Wolfpack girls solve Bruins
HELENA — Reese Ramey scored 16 points, eight of them coming down the stretch as Glacier defeated Helena Capital 46-43 in Western AA girls basketball action Friday.
The Wolfpack (8-8 overall, 5-6 in league) led 11-2 after one quarter only to see the host Bruins battle back and eventually take a 32-31 lead into the fourth.
That set the stage for seven lead changes — starting with Rylee Bigelow’s bucket that put the Pack up 33-32 at the 7:44 mark — and two ties. Bigelow’s three put Glacier ahead 36-34; Madi Stevens scored to make it 38-36.
Eventually, with 1:06 left, Ramey used a pick and drained a three to put the Pack ahead fro good, 43-41. Ramey hit 3 of 4 free throws in the final 23 seconds.
Karley Allen hit two 3-pointers and added 10 points for Glacier. Ali Miller led Capital (7-9, 4-7 in league) with 12.
