John Wayne Highfill II, 51

In loving memory of John Wayne Highfill II, Sept. 21, 1973—Jan. 20, 2025.

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of John Wayne Highfill II, who left us at the age of 51 on Jan. 20, 2025, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. John was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on Sept. 21, 1973. He attended school in Las Vegas, Nevada then earned his associate's degree in business and accounting at UNLV. His inherent skills for mathematics continued to fuel his many successful business adventures.

In 1993, John made the move to Flathead County, reconnecting with his family’s roots, and quickly found that Montana was where he belonged. Over the years, John ran multiple businesses. Most recently, Better Homes Tile and Stone LLC, traveling across the country, building connections and friendships that would last a lifetime. He was always a mentor to those around him, paving the way for many to achieve success in their own lives.

His influence and kindness touched the lives of so many.

A deeply spiritual man and a patriot. John worked tirelessly to create a better life for his family. His devotion to his wife and children was unwavering, and his efforts to provide for them were evident in everything he did.

Known for his generous heart, infectious humor, and ability to see the good in everyone, John had a warmth that drew people to him. He was a lover of music, concerts, playing softball, and was great at pool. He loved his dogs, his big new trucks, the Vikings, camping, boating, being a grandpa, and so much more. Most importantly, John treasured every moment he could spend with his family and friends.

John is survived by his wife, Sarah Ann Highfill; two adult children Brennon and Nevaeh Highfill; granddaughter, Alaiya; his mother, Debra Highfill; his father, John Highfill; his twin sisters, Rebecca Highfill and Nicholette Stiffler; siblings, Gary, Mike, Jeffrey and Chelsea Highfill.

John was preceded in death by his stepfather, Paul Hendrickx, his infant brother, John William Highfill, and his grandparents, David and Joan Thorsheim.

Memorial services will be held with Pastor Kevin at Canvas Church in Kalispell, on May 24, at 11 a.m.
