DREAM's Shred Fest fundraiser is March 22

| February 27, 2025 2:00 AM

DREAM Adaptive Recreation hosts its 6th annual Shred Fest on March 22 at Whitefish Mountain Resort. This dynamic fundraising event aims to raise $85,000 to support DREAM's mission of providing life-changing outdoor adaptive recreation opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

Participants can sign up as individuals or form teams of up to five to collaborate on fundraising prior to the event. At the Shred Fest, March 22, individuals or teams hit the slopes to celebrate their impact, enjoy the mountain and compete in fun on-hill activities.

"Shred Fest is more than just a day on the slopes. It's about breaking barriers, fostering inclusion and empowering individuals of all abilities to enjoy outdoor recreation," said Julie Tickle, executive director of DREAM Adaptive Recreation. "Every dollar raised helps make outdoor recreation more accessible for our community."

To get involved, register as an individual or team and fundraise in your circles to support DREAM’s mission. Then, compete in on-mountain adventures, including a vertical challenge and celebrate with participants, volunteers, staff and supporters slopeside.

DREAM Adaptive Recreation was founded by a group of passionate Flathead residents in 1985, five years before the Americans with Disabilities Act was enacted by Congress. They saw a need to make outdoor activities more accessible to individuals with disabilities. Over the past 40 years, DREAM has, not only remained steadfast in collaborating on community access projects, but also has developed a robust year-round schedule of programs to include skiing, snowboarding, Nordic skiing, mountain biking, paved-path cycling, paddleboarding, kayaking, waterskiing, wakeboarding, wake surfing and fishing. Individuals with permanent disabilities ages 5 to adults are eligible for programs, including those with physical, cognitive, developmental, intellectual and sensory disabilities. There is also unique programming for Military Veterans with disabilities. DREAM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a platinum star rating from GuideStar/Candid.
