Douglas James Lowitz, 58
Douglas James Lowitz, 58, passed away Nov. 28, 2024, in Kalispell. Doug was born on Jan. 28, 1966, to Richard and Cheryl (Benson) Lowitz. As a child, he was interested in sports and was a pretty good athlete. He grew up riding dirt bikes, fishing and camping and enjoyed all things outdoors.
Upon graduating from Flathead High School in 1984, he joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. After serving for our country, Doug moved to Arizona. He attended Ron Bailie School of Broadcasting — his deep love of music inspired him.
Doug moved back to Montana and became a local chef. He had a great love for his dogs, Brutus, Betty and of course his loyal to the end, Daisy.
He is survived by his sister, Melissa Nolan and husband, Scott; sister, Amber Chacone and husband, Mikey; stepparents, Steve Cave and Marianne Lowitz; nephew, Logan Nolan and wife, Samantha; various other relatives and life-long best friend, Kevin Andrews and wife, Donna.
