Sally Ann Ramos, 87

| January 27, 2025 12:00 AM

Sally Ann (Driscoll) Ramos was born on Jan. 20, 1938, at St. Luke Hospital, Altadena, California. She died on Jan. 20, 2025, at home in Kalispell, surrounded by her loving family.

Sally, the loving eldest daughter of Robert Alan Driscoll and Amy Geraldine Young Driscoll, attended South Pasadena schools and spent time with her extended family in Long Beach, California. She grew up taking the trolley to visit her grandparents and cousins. Long Beach, Palm Springs and Big Bear Lake were her go-to vacation destinations.

Sally married Richard Charles Ramos, her husband and life partner for 70 years, and was a devoted mother to her three boys. She worked for several financial firms and retired after 22 years as Vice President of Operations at UBS Paine Webber, Pasadena, California. Her accomplishments included training and development for corporate standards to meet SEC requirements and programs to empower and mentor women in the workplace.

Sally resided in many cities across our beloved country.  She lived in South Pasadena, Oakland, and Altadena, California, Portland, Oregon, and Westfield, New Jersey. Wherever the family lived, she created a lovely, inviting home. Embracing adventure again, in 2002 Sally and Dick moved to Ashley Lake in Montana.

At Ashley Lake, hosting friends and family was one of her favorite things. She made traditions with her community for each season. She was a consummate entertainer, host, and exceptional home cook. She made Sunday Night dinners a memorable time. Sally loved being on the deck, reading, or enjoying time with friends and family, surrounded by Montana scenery.

Sally was an active member of Epworth United Methodist Church, serving on several committees and serving as president of United Methodist Women (UMW). She was a discerning, steadfast, and caring woman of great faith.

She is survived by her husband Richard; her sons Stephen Charles Ramos and Thomas Driscoll Ramos; four grandchildren: Margaret Ann and Charles Hayden Ramos of London, England, children of Stephen Charles, and Stephanie Ann Malloy and Daniel Alan Ramos, children of Richard Alan; twin great-granddaughters; and her siblings, Virginia Driscoll and Rob (Beth) Driscoll. She is also celebrated by many friends, nieces, and nephews across the country.

She is preceded in death by her beloved son, Richard Alan Ramos (deceased on June 12, 1995).

A viewing will take place at Buffalo Hills Funeral Home, 1890 U.S. 93, Kalispell, Friday, Feb. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m.
