Divisional morning games are at their most important these days in the Western A, and it was Bigfork and Columbia Falls that clinched berths in the State A tournament with loser-out wins Saturday.

At Columbia Falls High School, the Bigfork Valkyries built a big lead and held off Browning 58-44; at Whitefish High School, the Wildkats of Columbia Falls fought off Ronan for a 68-65 victory.

The Wildkats and Vals moved into the consolation game Saturday afternoon. The top four teams in the Western A advance to next week’s State A tournament in Billings.
