Marlene Bartlett Haveman, 88

Marlene Bartlett Haveman, 88, of Seeley Lake, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Beehive Homes, of Alzheimer's.

She was born on Feb. 22, 1937, in Kalispell, to Helen and Eldred Meyer of Creston. She started school in Portland where her folks were working in the war effort and came back home to Ferndale in the fifth grade. After finishing junior high, Marlene went to high school in Bigfork and turned down a college scholarship to start a family.

Marlene married Raymond “Buzz” Bartlett on Nov. 4, 1955 in Bigfork. She worked at the Bank of Columbia Falls after her four children were all school age. They built a house in Seeley Lake and moved there in 1981. She worked at First Valley Bank and upon retirement, both Buzz and Marlene enjoyed traveling, spending many winters in Arizona. Buzz passed away in March of 1999.

Marlene married Jay Haveman in January 2002. They also enjoyed traveling, although mostly to auctions and his family land in Hysham. Jay passed away in October 2020.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed her later years at the Mission Bible Fellowship and the Senior Center.

Survivors include her daughters, Vicki, Columbia Falls, and Patti, Seeley Lake; sons, Bill (Terryl), Seeley Lake, and Jim, Stevensville; stepsons, Jim (Danielle), Bigfork and Justin (Sue), Eureka; and stepdaughter, June (Richard), Seeley Lake; two brothers, Neil (Dixie) Salmon Prairie, and Jim (Mavis), of Ferndale; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be at the Little Brown Church in Bigfork (Real Life Church) on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 1 p.m. with Ronnie Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home is caring for the family.
