POLSON — Samantha Rensvold threw a 5-inning one-hitter and Emma Smith and Jaja Nichols drove in runs as Polson downed Ronan 3-0 in a Northwest A softball game shortened by rain and lightning.

Polson had scored a run in the bottom of the fifth — Smith doubled in Sierra Perez, who’d singled — when the players were pulled off the field with one out.

The game was called around 45 minutes later.

Nichols’ RBI single gave Polson a 1-0 lead in the second inning. That was enough for Rensvold, who allowed only Kylee Kelch’s single to lead off the fifth inning.

Rensvold walked no one and fanned six.

Kaydnce Santos scattered eight hits and two walks in 4 1-3 innings for the Maidens. She struck out four and allowed just one earned run.

Libby 22, Eureka 2

EUREKA — Dakota Allen hit a 2-run home run and drove in three as Libby downed Eureka in five innings Thursday in high school softball.

The third inning blast to left field came during a seven-run outburst during the inning that extended the Logger lead to 14-0. Libby added another seven runs in the fifth, the Loggers scored in all five innings. The game ended early due to the run rule.

Carmen Kohler threw four innings for the Loggers, allowing two runs and striking out eight. Maddi Willis threw one inning in relief and fanned two.

Lily McAfee and Lily Williams picked up the lone hits for the Lions, McAfee also scored a run.

Laurel 15, Billings Central 0

LAUREL — Laurel’s Harper Anderson hit three singles and a sacrifice fly, driving in seven runs as the Locomotives beat Billings Central in four innings.

Laurel’s Adrienne Roth allowed just one hit and two walks, striking out three. The Rams were State A runners up in 2024.
