Shelly Whitman dips a section of yarn Friday morning into a custom mixture of dye in an old sheep feeding pan. The yarns retail from $11.95 to $28.95 a skein, depending on texture and fiber. Whitman models her colors after the flora and fauna of Northwest Montana.
