Dominic Pattee, 6, in blue, and his brother Dylan Pattee, 9, both of Marion, ride the Simulated Impaired Driving Experience car at the Flathead Family Fun Day & Safety Expo on Saturday, September 28, at the fairgrounds in Kalispell. The ride allows drivers to take circle the course two times, first under normal driving conditions, then with a second and a half delay. It lets the driver feel the effects of even a small amount of time delay at six to seven miles per hour and lets them imagine the effect at 70 miles per hour. Having the car at the Safety Expo encourages children to tell their parents not to text and drive. (Brenda Ahearn/Daily Inter Lake)
