A group of about 20 Whitefish High School students marched through downtown Whitefish Wednesday morning chanting, “no more violence.” A walkout at 10 a.m. had been called for across the country by the Women’s March Youth Empower #Enough National School Walkout initiative on the one-month anniversary of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The walkout was said to be a protest against gun violence in the wake of the mass shooting that left 17 dead. (Heidi Desch/Whitefish Pilot)
