Rescued mustangs live their new daily routine at Hiatt Equestrian Rescue and Recreation. The nine were part of a herd that had been rounded up to be slaughtered. The foals would have faced the most common fate for this scenario of either being shot or left to die, unable to fend for themselves without their parents.

It’s 7 a.m. on a crisp January morning at Hiatt Equestrian Rescue and Recreation in Bigfork. The sun has yet to consider rising, leaving one to maneuver the early hours with senses other than sight.
