Georgia lawmakers gather for a special session on Monday, March 16, 2020 in Atlanta. Georgia's lawmakers are granting Gov. Brian Kemp broad powers to combat the spread of the new coronavirus in the state.   They set April 13, the Monday after Easter, as the end date for Kemp's powers.     The vast majority of people recover from the new coronavirus. According to the World  Health Organization, most people recover in about two to six weeks, depending on the severity of the illness. Georgia governor closes all public schools, colleges

ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp on Monday ordered public schools and colleges closed from Wednesday until at least March 31, after lawmakers ratified his weekend emergency declaration to fight the new coronavirus.
