FILE - A Delta Air Lines flight, rear center, taxis under the 780-foot-long, 85-foot-high aerial passenger walkway, part of the new International Arrivals Facility at Sea-Tac International Airport, on March 3, 2022, in Seattle. The new, billion-dollar international terminal at Seattle's airport opened last year and was supposed to fit 20 large planes side by side. But The Seattle Times reports it can only accommodate 16 planes simultaneously because of design flaws. The Port of Seattle, which operates the airport, and Clark Construction, which built the new facility, have both filed lawsuits over the capacity issue. The Port and Clark Construction declined to comment on the pending litigation. (Ken Lambert/The Seattle Times via AP, File)

New Seattle airport terminal lacks space for enough planes

In a letter sent in August to Clark Construction, which built the new facility, the Port said the 20% shortfall in capacity could cause "damages to the Port's operations in the tens or hundreds of millions of dollars over the expected life of this project."
