Welcome to the Daily Inter Lake’s Local Events podcast!

Summer is here and Northwest Montana is the last best place to celebrate the 4th of July. This week’s episode is a firecracker of fun activities! Stay tuned till the end for our list of parades and firework displays or pick up Wednesday’s Daily Inter Lake for our 4th of July roundup.

As shout out to this week’s sponsor, The Whitefish Arts Festival. Join artists from across the country July 5th through 7th at Whitefish’s Depot Park. Browse more than 150 curated artists booths of sculpture, paintings, photography, woodworking, pottery, jewelry, clothing and home decor. Admission is free and food vendors will be on site. This beloved art festival is the perfect place to find a unique gift or memento of your time in Montana. In their 45th year, the Whitefish Arts Festival will not disappoint. Browse the park on Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm and on Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. Thanks Whitefish Arts Festival for your sponsorship and for inspiring and elevating the arts in our community.

Bigfork is the place to be on Monday evenings for the Bigfork Monday Market from 5 to 8 pm at the River View Bar. Not only will you find local artists – like the talented Cassie Butterfield and her incredible paintings of wildflowers and wildlife – baked goods, produce, food trucks and a massage therapist, the Bigfork Monday Market also hosts live music. Marketeers on Monday July 1st are in for a treat as local entrepreneur and songwriter Chris Evans takes the stage to share his foot-stomping, retro-rocking guitar ballads.

101 Central in Whitefish is host to The Whitefish Cabaret each Sunday in July and August at 8pm. No one is safe in this hilarious and edgy commentary on social politics, pop culture, and the town of Whitefish itself. No topic is taboo for these four wicked performers during this raunchy and cheeky romp.

Head across the street for Whitefish’s new food truck and entertainment venue. Thirty Eight is an outdoor experience with rotating food trucks, art vendors and musical acts. Mondays through Saturdays from 5 to 8 pm and Sundays from 3 to 6 pm you can pop in to try something new, gather with friends and enjoy the “urban” outdoors. This week Thirty Eight has an incredible music line up kicking off on Monday July 1st with Michelle Rivers. Tuesday July 2nd has Donnie Rifkin & Maggie Lynch, Thursday July 4th showcases Andrew Brozek, and not to miss on Friday July 5th Halladay graces the Thirty Eight Stage. Cheers and thanks to the Whitefish Music Scene for presenting these talented musicians at this new venue.

Drink Beer. Build Trails. Saturday, July 6th finds the annual Pints for Paths Brewfest and fundraiser at Heavens Peak Lodge & Resort in West Glacier. This is a great time brought to you by your local, trail-building nonprofit Gateway to Glacier Trails. Breweries from near and far set the scene for music from Zach Talbert and Drew Landry Band. Stop in from 5 to 10pm for this family-friendly event.

Back by a landslide of popular demand, you can catch The Music of Fleetwood Mac—A Tribute Concert on Wednesday July 3rd at 101 Central in Whitefish. The pervious performance sold out and as of this recording there are still tickets remaining. The Music of Fleetwood Mac features a seven-piece band for an unforgettable night of classic hits, good vibes and nostalgia. You can go your own way, or you can hurry up and get your tickets to this one-night-only performance.

Thanks again to our sponsor The Whitefish Arts Festival. This art festival is not to miss!

And now, for the grand finale!

The fun begins on Wednesday July 3rd in Polson for their annual fireworks display at Riverside Park. Polson also hosts Red, White & BBQ on July 4th, including a parade starting at noon on Main Street.

Iron Horse in Whitefish also lights up the July 3rd sky with a fireworks display that can be seen from downtown Whitefish.

Troy is an action-packed place to be on the 4th for their annual Troy’s Old Fashioned 4th of July. This is full day of fun kicking off with a color run at 8am, an old-fashioned breakfast at 9am, and a parade at 11am. But wait, there’s more! At noon the party kicks in with a car show, artist and vendor booths, food and a beer garden. Live music all day and night with a fireworks display at 11pm.

Head to Flathead Lake to enjoy pyrotechnics in Lakeside on July 4th at 11pm at the Lakeside Marina.

Or enjoy a patriotic parade in Bigfork at noon or in Kalispell at 10am on Main Street.

Whatever you do, it’s sure to be a blast!
