TRANSCRIPT

This heat is keeping things spicy and this week is no exception! This week we let you know how to stay cool at the library, details on the best art happenings, and a lengthy list of music opportunities to enjoy on these sweltering summer evenings. Keep in mind cooler days are ahead -- only 139 days until we’re shredding the gnar on Big Mountain.

Now, activate that mister and let’s find your next best time!

Our featured event this week is the Evergreen Chamber of Commerce Show N’ Sine Car Show. This family-friendly event presents a massive number of classic and unique cars in the Conlin’s Furniture parking lot. I love that this show is open to all classes of cars and there are some really unique and loud cars that roll out for this annual event. Join the Evergreen Chamber of Commerce for this fun event on Saturday August 3rd from 9 am to 2pm.

The Flathead County Library is a great place to spend a morning or afternoon with your kiddo or teen. Plus, it’s air conditioned! Dust off that library card and get to the library for a ton of great happenings! Pop in for Early Learners for ages 3 to 5 for STEAM inspired activities at 11 am on Mondays and Tuesdays in Kalispell and Mondays and Thursdays in Columbia Falls. Ages 6 to 10 can participate in the Kids Summer Workshop at 11 am in Columbia Falls on Wednesdays and in Kalispell on Thursdays. Babies and toddlers can enjoy Storytime at 11am on Wednesdays in Kalispell and Fridays in Columbia Falls. The library has so much more to offer than books ... and air conditioning! Did you know that you can check out a telescope to peep the night sky?!?

The Yoga Hive in Whitefish offers several fun and well events this week. Check out Kids Yoga at Whitefish’s Depot Park on Thursday August 1st at 4 pm. Tune in to a Sound Bath on August 3rd at 7:30 pm. Or find your center for paddleboard yoga at City Beach on August 1st and 4th at 7 pm.

If you’re searching for art and creativity this week, give Whitefish a stroll on Thursday August 1st from 5 to 8 pm for Whitefish Gallery Nights. All your favorite Whitefish Art Spots are open late and many offer snacks and entertainment.

This weekend marks the 46th year for the Bigfork Festival of the Arts. Browse Bigfork’s Electric Avenue as it hosts a wide array of curated arts, crafts, food and music. Bigfork has put itself on the map as an amazing art destination in Northwest Montana and this festival really shows that off.

Northwest Montana, you have really outdone yourself this summer! I don’t know about you, but I’ve definitely spent all my money on concert tickets and merch. Our local talent and a few visitors are once again hitting every stage this week.

The Brent Jameson Duo kicks off Season 2 of the Daily Inter Lake’s Press Play concert series for some daytime music on Friday August 2nd. Back by popular demand, Press Play is a tiny desk-esque concert held on the pressroom floor at Montana’s best newspaper. Each month we invite a local musician to perform their original music. Visit FlatheadTickets.com to reserve your space or watch live on our social channels. If you’re not already, follow Daily Inter Lake on YouTube and peruse all 10 concerts from Season One of Press Play!

Ok, now hang on tight ... here’s the live music lineup for the week.

Monday July 29th has Winnie Brave at the River View Bar in Bigfork. Michelle Rivers rocks the Thirty Eight stage in Whitefish. And Benny Weag serenades Flathead Lake at The Raven in Bigfork.

Tuesday July 30th check out Tyller Gummersall at Picnic in the Park at Kalispell’s Depot Park.

The afternoon of Wednesday July 31st showcases Hannah King at the Tiki Bar at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake. Catch her crooning by the lake on Sunday August 4th as well.

Venture up the North Fork road to one of my favorite summer venues, The Home Ranch Bottoms in Polebridge to see my favorite wordplayboy and Press Play performer Izaak Opatz as he shares his witty songs about heartbreak on Wednesday July 31st. Catch him closer to town on Friday August 1st at the lovely Max’s Market in Bigfork.

We’re back to Bigfork’s River View Bar on Friday August 2nd for Luke Lautaret. Or to the Boat Club Bar at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake for Randy Marshall. The Tommy Edwards band opens for Neal McCoy at Happy’s Inn in Libby. Or find your country fix in Bigfork for Harry Luge for an outdoor concert at Kelly’s Casino & Bar.

Get happy with Kip Moore on Saturday August 3rd at Happy’s Inn in Libby. While Swervin Ervin rock the patio at the Lodge at McGregor Lake in Marion.
