Kermit Merle Edmonds of Missoula died Sept. 20, 2019, at the age of 81. He was a beloved father, brother, friend and teacher; and a noted historian, archaeologist and soldier. He died at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls.

A pedestrian died after stepping in front of a vehicle near Mile Marker 20 on Montana Highway 56 in Lincoln County near Troy on Saturday, according to Montana Highway Patrol officials.

Cherry Blossoms in bloom

Thousands of cherry blossoms fill the trees at Bigfork Orchards on Wednesday afternoon, April 20. According to orchard owner Fritz Groenke 8 out of 10 blossoms are in bloom. “This is a great time for a drive down the East shore,” said Groenke. “It couldn’t get much better.” Groenke also said the orchards in Polson are about five days ahead of the more northern trees in Bigfork. arrested a 20-year-old man for disorderly conduct and possession of alcohol after he got into a fight, observed by six or seven onlookers, on the 600 block of Eighth Avenue West Sunday morning.

A man who appeared to be in his mid-20s got sick and passed out at the Whitefish train depot. Whitefish ambulance took him to the hospital.

of a fight late Tuesday, Kalispell police arrested three people on the 400 block of Sixth Avenue West: two men, both 20, on suspicion of being in possession of alcohol and a girl, 17, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Mack Days 2015

Mike Benson of Lonepine, fishing in rough weather conditions near Yellow Bay on Thursday, May 7, on Flathead Lake. Benson has won top honors in three of the Mack Days Tournaments and been in the top five in 15 of them. Mack Days is a biannual fishing tournament that takes place weekends in the spring and fall. The current tournament began on March 20, and will wrap up at 3 p.m. on May 17. This video was shot while on a ride along with Jason Mahlen of Kalispell. Mahlen is currently in first place in the tournament.

Joe Lamb of Columbia Falls and Beatrix Frissell of Polson were individual winners while the Columbia Falls boys and Whitefish girls captured the team titles on Saturday for the Western A Divisional cross country meet at Rebecca Farm.
