John Wayne Blake, 45

John Wayne Blake, 45, passed away suddenly on April 20, 2010, in Phoenix, from a massive stroke. He was born on July 28, 1964, in Kalispell. He graduated from high school in Richland, Wash., and received his bachelor s degree in computer programming from DeVry University in Phoenix. John had a career spanning 20 years in the avionics software field, both commercial and military. He worked at General Dynamics in Dallas, and most recently for Belcan Engineering in Phoenix. He was a brilliant engineer and good friend to many. John enjoyed many hobbies and excelled in sports, including table tennis (once ranked fifth in the world), and games of chance. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Blair; brother, Michael Blake; and his grandparents. Those left to cherish his memory are father, Wayne Blake; and stepmother, Carol; Warner Blake, James Blair, Michelle Sevesind, Paul Ulberg, Lorena Blake, Travis Blake, aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends, Susan Stuart and Scott Miles. A memorial service and burial will be at a later date at Sunnyside Cemetery in Richland.

The Flathead County Alcohol Enforcement Team arrested 20 minors for possession of alcohol over the weekend. On Friday, three youths were arrested at an event at Majestic Valley Arena. On Saturday, 16 youths were cited and released to a responsible adult after officers responded to a house party on Vonderheide Lane. One of the kids was also charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. On Sunday, a 20-year-old woman was arrested on First Avenue West in Kalispell. The 21-year-old man who provided the woman with the alcohol was also cited.
