Thelma Gray Winters, 91, former longtime Kalispell resident, passed peacefully in Vancouver, Wash., Oct. 17, 2009, to join her departed family and friends in heaven. She was born in Peru, Neb., to Laura and Fred Hildbrand and grew up on the family s Wyoming homestead with brothers, Lowell and Bud, who preceded her. Thelma moved to Vancouver with her family in 1957. Thelma was a homemaker who loved dancing, excelled at cooking and sewing, loved spending time in nature, and was an active listener for anyone who was troubled. Thelma will be greatly missed by all who love her. She leaves behind her daughters, Ardith Gray DeRaad and Gary of Puyallup, Wash., and Dorothy Laursen of Vancouver; her son-in-law, Bill Chappelle; grandchildren, Shawna LeMott and Michael of Tacoma, Wash., Brent and Michelle of Kent, Wash., Darrin Laursen and Valerie, and Devin Laursen and Katie of Wisconsin, and Susan Cole and David of California; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was a 1949 Flathead County High School graduate. On Aug. 3, 1952, she married Harold D. Peterson. They had three children, Kim, Jon and Ruthie. Dorothy is survived by her son, Kim Peterson, of Kalispell; and daughter, Ruthie Johnson, of Sultan, Wash.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother, Gary Anderson, of Kalispell; sisters, Carol Cummins of Seattle, and Meridee Anderson of Shelton, Wash.; and numerous relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ella, and stepfather, Mark Mohn; husband, Harold; and son, Jon. A memorial dessert potluck will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 21, at the South Kalispell Fire Department, located at 1253 Willow Glen Dr., Kalispell.

Delivery / shipping will be F.O.B. to the Flathead County Shop at 1249 Willow Glen Drive, Kalispell, Montana, 59901, within ninety (90) days of the signing of a contract for purchase. Each bidder must deposit with his bid, a bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of his bid to secure the bidder's express covenant that if the bidder is awarded the contract, the bidder will, within ten (10) days, enter into a formal contract for the purchase and sale of said unit.
