The general character of the proposed SWO Highway 93 South Overlay is an overlay district to mitigate development impacts along the Highway 93 South corridor adjacent to the City of Whitefish. The overlay district proposes to add design standards, including landscaping, buffering, signage, architectural design, lighting, and transportation improvements. The Flathead County Zoning Regulations apply in all County zoning districts created under Section 76-2-205, M.C.A., and are on file for public inspection at the Office of the Board of Commissioners, located at 800 South Main, Room 302, Kalispell, Montana, the Flathead County Planning and Zoning Office, 40 11th Street West, and on the Flathead County Planning and Zoning Office's website at: http://flathead.mt.gov/planning_zoning/downloads.php. Local businessman receives honorary military rank
After reading that actor Gary Sinise (Lt. Dan from “Forrest Gump”) had been recognized by an honorary promotion to chief petty officer for his untiring efforts on behalf of active duty military and veterans, the local VFW Post thought it would be appropriate to bestow a similar honorary promotion on a local resident who has also contributed so much to local National Guard, Reserve and veterans organizations, and their causes, according to a press release from the VFW.
