Della Marie (Miller) Wipplinger, 92
Della Marie (Miller) Wipplinger, 92, was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Columbus, North Dakota. She was the youngest of three children born to William Anthony Miller and Ruth Ann (Prince) Miller. The family farmed in Opheim, until her father’s health forced a move in 1932. The Millers bought a farm north of Charlo where Della first attended school. Della graduated from Dixon High School in 1941 and went to work for the seed house in Charlo.

Wesley Gene Persinger, 89
Wesley “Wes” Persinger passed away Jan. 27, 2019, peacefully at Kalispell Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family, on his day to go home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Henry Thornton "Hank" Haaven, 88, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell. He was born on Oct. 2, 1920, the son of Henry and Anna Marie (Bolin) Haaven on the family farm near Coalridge.

Joan Taylor DeRosia, 74
Joan Taylor DeRosia, 74, of Kalispell, passed away from cancer on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010. She was born on Oct. 12, 1935, to John and Edith Taylor in Wenatchee, Wash., and was raised in the Kalispell area. She attended grade schools in Cut Bank, West Glacier, Kalispell and Evergreen, and graduated from Flathead County High School in 1955. Joan worked at various secretarial jobs in the Flathead Valley, and worked at Aluma Glass for 18 years. Joan married Chester DeRosia in 1965, and they were married for 20 years. She met Aaron Hall in 1989, and he was her partner until his death on March 28, 2005. Joan s interests included golf, embroidery and crocheting. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester DeRosia; and her partner, Aaron Hall. Joan is survived by her partner, Richard Ortiz; her daughters, Carolyn Taylor (Bob) Cornelius, and Wendy Larson; sons, Gary (Stacy) Taylor, and Bob DeRosia; brother, John E. (Kathy) Taylor; sister, Rosella Proefrock (Lee) Isaacson; grandchildren, Brian Larson, Victor (Christina) Larson, Kayla Larson (Jason Counts), Todd Griffin, A.J. Griffin (Clifton) Slay, Ryan (Lillie) Griffin, Daisey (Brad) Davisson, Samantha DeRosia (David Decker), and Miranda DeRosia; great-grandchildren, Haylee Larson, Koda Larson, Kagen Larson, Ella Counts, Larkin Griffin, Hawkin Griffin, and Jason Davisson. Cremation has taken place and burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 12, at Fairview Cemetery in Columbia Falls. Memorials may be sent in Joan s name to a hospice of the donor s choice. S. Elaine Persinger, 77
S. Elaine Persinger, 77, passed away Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, and went home to our dear Lord and Savior. She was born in Hondo, Texas, July 24, 1933. She was the oldest child born to Will and Loreta Neely and had a younger brother, Jimmy. They have all gone to meet the Lord. She attended Multnomah University-Bible College as a young woman, then met her husband, Wesley Gene Persinger in Hines, Ore., while she was attending nursing college in California. She then stopped school to be married and create a family. They were married on Dec. 17, 1954. They soon had four children, Brent, Gary and Ilene, Scott and Wendy, Cindy and Don Bullock. She soon finished her nursing degree at Boise State. They raised their children in Burns, Ore., then Wes and Elaine managed Motel 6 in Kalispell for 13 years, retired, and then bought Riverside Trailer Park in Columbia Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Loreta Neely; and her brother, Jimmy Neely. She is survived by her husband, Wesley Persinger; four children; 11 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Elaine was always smiling and enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. She had great love for God and her family. She lived her life as a wonderful Christian woman, expressing her morals and values along with offering prayer and loving advice for all those in need. Our dear loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother will be truly missed and cherished. A gathering and celebration of her life will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, at the family home at 1055 Jellison Road, D-7, Columbia Falls. Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls is assisting the family.
Max F. Allen, 72
The Angels took Max F. Allen home to the Lord on March 18, 2010, after suffering a long, faithful battle with severe COPD. He was born March 25, 1937, in Kalispell. He served his country in the U.S. Army, worked as operating engineer in southern California for 18 years, and three years on the Alaskan Pipeline. Even though Max had to move away from his beloved Montana for work, his heart always stayed here. He enjoyed the great outdoors, fishing and hunting, and loved living at Middle Thompson Lake. Max and Isabelle Marty were married Aug. 19, 1965. They were blessed with two children, Marty Ann and Max Wayne. They were again blessed with granddaughter Natasha Ann, who was adopted into the family as their daughter. He was known for his loving nature and compassion for his great Lord and devotion to Jesus Christ. Max was a kind person who sacrificed his own personal well-being for others and never asked for anything in return. He had a quiet, witty way with humor, which he used to pull tricks on all with much enjoyment. Max was preceded in death by his daughter, Marty Ann; and his parents, Frank and Nettie Allen. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Isabelle; son, Max Wayne, and wife, Tammy, and their son, Rance Vaughan; daughter, Natasha Ann; brothers, Gary and wife Angie, Ron and wife Marilyn, and Dennis; also, several nieces and nephews, whom Max loved and prayed for. A rosary will be said for Max at 7 p.m. Friday, May 21, and funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at St. Richard s Catholic Church in Columbia Falls.
Gerald Charles Jerry McNutt, 73
Gerald Charles Jerry McNutt, 73, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at his home in Kalispell. Jerry was born on Aug. 30, 1937, in Cut Bank, to James and Annette (Therrien) McNutt. He was raised in the Cut Bank area, where he graduated from Cut Bank High School in 1956. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served from January 1957 until December 1962. He married Beverly Hecock on May 27, 1961, in Cut Bank. From 1968 until the early 1990s, Jerry worked for numerous grain companies, GTA, Columbia Grain Montana Merchandising, in a managing and merchandising capacity. Jerry worked for Wal-Mart from June of 1999 until 2009, where he made many friends. He was a member of the Elks Club of Great Falls, was a director on the Portland Grain Exchange, and was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department in Harlem. He enjoyed snow skiing, loved his dogs, was an accomplished cheesecake baker and fudge maker, and loved fishing and boating. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, James and Annette McNutt; and one brother, Merritt McNutt. He is survived by his daughter, Billiette Grigsby, of Huntsville, Texas; a son, Dave McNutt, of Kalispell; a brother, Gary McNutt, and his wife, Sherry, of Cut Bank; four grandchildren, Necola Grigsby, Charles Grigsby, Beth McNutt and Dalton McNutt; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. "Join us in celebrating the life of Duane P. Martin, whose journey with us" ended on May 13, 2005, in Tucson, Ariz. He fought a courageous seven-year battle following a bone marrow transplant and numerous surgeries and setbacks.

Robert Edwin Bob Cole, 63
Robert Edwin Bob Cole, 63, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell. He was born on Dec. 26, 1946, in Kalispell, the son of Melvin J. and Levina (Strom) Cole. He attended schools in Enumclaw, Wash., and graduated from Enumclaw High School. He was in the U.S. Navy and served in the Marine Special Forces from 1969 until his discharge in 1972. He worked as a logger in Washington State until moving back to Kalispell and worked for Gary Krause Logging for a few years; and later was a bar owner in California; and for the last several years worked for Western Traffic Control as a traffic controller on highway construction, driving a pilot vehicle. He enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, NASCAR races, camping and hanging out with his many good friends and swapping logging stories. He also was a master storyteller and the classic BS er. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his partner in life of 20 years, Linda Meyer, of Kalispell; his sister, Zina Evans, and her partner, Dick Monroe, of Buckley, Wash., and her two sons, Dustin and family of Buckley, and Shane and family of Alaska; four stepchildren, Sharron, Kelly and Shallon of Washington, and Darrin of California; and nine grandchildren.
