No. 26417 REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS The Blackfeet Tribe is soliciting bids to prepare an Environmental Assessment for the construction of the Heart Butte Senior/Community Center with HUD-ICDBG Funds; (a) In order to assure that the policies of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other provisions of Federal law which further the purposes of that act (as specified in 24 CFR 58.5) are most effectively implemented in connection with the expenditure of ICDBG funds, the grantee shall comply with the Environment Review Procedures for Entities Assuming HUD Environmental Responsibilities (24 CFR part 58). The EA determines whether or not a federal action has the potential to cause significant environmental effects. The EA shall include a brief discussion of: 1) The need for the proposal Alternatives (when there is an unresolved conflict concerning alternative uses of available resources; 2) The environmental impacts of the proposed action and alternatives; 3) A listing of agencies and persons consulted. If the agency determines that the action will not have significant environmental impacts, the agency will issue a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). If the EA determines that the environmental impacts of a proposed Federal action will be significant, an Environmental Impact Statement will be prepared. The Blackfeet Tribe will comply with the Indian Preference requirements in accordance with 24 CFR 1003.510 as it applies in this procurement. Keep the landfill on a diet

The Flathead County Landfill is keeping its weight down thanks to a couple of recent recycling events in the valley. Flathead area businesses and residents kept more than 20,000 pounds of electronics out of the district's landfill during the Collectronics event on Memorial Day weekend in Whitefish and a similar event July 15 at Valley Recycling in Kalispell.
